Join us for a relaxing session in the wonderful surroundings of Hailey Wood.
We take a stroll through the woods, activating our senses and deepening connections through Forest Bathing activities enjoyable for you and your baby. Along the way, we might gather some natural materials which we then use for a beautiful craft activity once back at basecamp. After that there is some more time to chat, relax and play at our lovely woodland site.
This is a holding group, fostering connection to your baby, other participants, yourself and, of course, nature. Spending time in nature is good for our overall wellbeing – our body as well as our mind – and in our sessions we focus our attention away from worries and stresses and towards the here and now.
The group is most suitable for those with children from 6 weeks to 18 months – the intention is that babies are carried; it is not a toddler walk, and craft activities are aimed at adults as an opportunity to be creative and nurture ourselves. It is ok if your little one is asleep for part or maybe even all of the session – then this is time for you to relax and care for yourself.
The walk itself is not very long, fast or strenuous and can be adapted on the day according to the group members’ interest and needs and factors like the weather. You will need a baby carrier/sling (the paths are not suitable for buggies).
We welcome families from all backgrounds and those with disabilities. Please get in touch if you have any special needs so that we can have a chat. The walks are along woodland paths and tracks which are uneven and are not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
