Join us for a relaxing afternoon in the wonderful surroundings of Hailey Wood for our parent & baby woodland group – we walk, craft and connect.
We meet at 12.30 for lunch (bring your own), then start the activities at 1 pm.
We take a stroll through Hailey Wood, activating our senses and deepening connections through activities enjoyable for you and your baby. Along the way, we might gather some natural materials which we then use for a beautiful craft activity once back at basecamp. After that, there is some more time to chat, relax and play at our lovely woodland site; if the weather permits, you can rest in a hammock amongst the trees.
This is a holding group, fostering a connection to your baby, other participants, yourself and, of course, nature. Spending time in nature is good for our overall wellbeing – our body as well as our mind – and in our sessions we focus our attention away from worries and stresses and towards the here and now.
The group is most suitable for those with children from 6 weeks to 18 months – the intention is that babies are carried for the duration of the walk; it is not a toddler walk, and craft activities are aimed at adults as an opportunity to be creative and nurture ourselves. It is ok if your little one is asleep for part or maybe even all of the session – then this is time for you to relax and care for yourself.
The walk itself is not very long, fast or strenuous and can be adapted on the day according to the group members’ interests and needs and factors like the weather.
