foster a deep love of nature
Welcome to our outdoor parent & toddler groups!
Would you like to spend more time outdoors and experience all types of weather and all seasons, and feel better for it? Foster a deep love of nature in your child, and learn a thing or two about trees, plants and animals yourself? Would you like to meet up with like-minded people, have chats around the campfire and relax under the trees? Gain some new skills like fire lighting and try out some natural crafts? Join a group that is as beneficial for the grown-up as it is for the child?

We currently run three weekly groups:
- Mondays: Little Explorers Toddler Forest School at Hailey Wood near Cirencester, 10 am to 12 noon
- Tuesdays: Rococo Garden Sprites, Painswick Rococo Garden, 10.15 am to 12.15 pm
- Thursdays: Tree Tots Toddler Forest School at the Rodborough Scout Activity Site off Kingscourt Lane, Stroud, 10 am to 12 noon
The groups give parents/carers and their children the opportunity to meet, explore and play in the great outdoors. Don’t worry if you don’t know anyone there yet – you’ll soon make new friends.
Our outdoor parent & toddler groups are suitable for children between 0 and 4 years; younger siblings are always welcome, too (we recommend slings but all our sites are suitable for off-road buggies) and free of charge under 18 months.
The sessions are a mixture of guided activities and free play for which we have a range of resources on hand to spark the children’s imagination. Over the course of the term we do mud play, walks, stories, wild art, bug hunting, campfire cooking, simple woodwork and generally having a lovely, relaxing time surrounded by nature – good for body and soul, for children and grown-ups alike.
We offer discounts for childminders; please get in touch if you would like to enquire about this or if you have any questions.
