Come and experience the magic of the woods! Hailey Wood offers a unique, authentic woodland experience that feels removed from the everyday. We love nothing better than hosting with a party with you in nature.
Whatever the time of year – from riotous run-arounds, games and favourite stories that come alive outside, Bushcraft & den building; woodland craft & scavenger hunts; each party will be unique and special. Parents, the kettle is on!
What we provide
- 2.5+ hours of structured and free fun in a beautiful setting ( you might be surprised how quick it goes!)
- Classic, themed or tailored party- your choice. See party packages.
- Campfire. Making a fire is part of the occasion. The birthday child will be invited to light their birthday fire & their friends will help build it.
- Wide games. Games are not only loads of fun, they are a brilliant way to explore the wood, attune with nature and get into our bodies before immersing in play.
- Marshmallows (of course), or a toasted apple if preferred.
- Drinks. Squash & water for children. Tea & coffee for adults
- Cups, plates and cooking equipment should you want to cook over the fire. We like to avoid unnecessary plastic being bought for one off events.
- A wood-cookie medallion for each child to take home
- Parachute shelter and shelters for damp weather/composting toilet
- Experienced Forest School leader
What you provide
- the children! age 3 + maximum 15
- 1-3 adults to stay. Parties where children up to 6y/Y1 in school, parents/carers must also attend with their child.
- party food. We suggest a simple packed lunch or sausages to reheat over the fire.

BUSHCRAFT
Choose two main activities e.g shelter. Add on extra activity for £30. Allow an additional 30 mins.
- £250 for up to 15 children 7+
- FIRELIGHTING: learn how where to find resources for a fire in the woods, learn some useful tips for fire-lighting in the rain tinders, accelerants and kindling and have a go with your friends building your own fires
- SHELTER BUILDING: learn how to make a classic lean to or improvise your own. Waterproof your shelter using natural materials. Accept the ‘storm’ challenge.
- DAMPER BREAD. Identify safe tree species, harvest and prepare your own stick. Make your own dough and cook it on the fire. Eat your hot bread with some yummy spreads!
ROBIN HOOD
- £240 for up to 15 children 5+
- Join Robin and the Merry Men in the Forest! Complete a series of challenges to retrieve the stolen coins, use the grateful villagers workshop to enjoy making bows and arrows.
FOREST CRAFT
- £240 for up to 12 children 7+
- Choose one main activity from list below. Add on extra activities for £30 each. Allow an additional 30 mins for each add on.
- WOODLAND JEWELLERY scavenger hunt to find resources, identify the elder tree and harvest it thoughtfully to make beads, have fun making leaf printed medallions and try out nordic slinging braids with your friends.
- PEWTER CHARMS scavenger hunt in the forest for inspiration and enjoy turning your finds into moulds made with clay. Experience the alchemy of melting pewter over the birthday fire to make your own special charm to take home
MAGIC IN THE FOREST
- £240 for up to 12 children 5+
- Choose one main activity from list below. Add on extra activities for £30 each. Allow an additional 30 mins for each add on.
- POTIONS AND SPELLS Scavenger hunt in the forest for ingredients for spells and let your woodland wand find you! Mix some potions in the woodland kitchen. Create your own tiny ‘suspension’ and hand write your special ingredients on faery paper to take home.
- HERBOLOGY Find out about the ‘magic’ trees living at Hailey Wood. Light a very special fire. Solve a riddle to help you in your search for hidden species. Explore the uses of some easy to identify healing plants and use your fire to help you make plant balms to take home.
- FAERY FOLK Hailey Wood is home to very small, rarely seen faery folk. If we are quiet and careful, we may see signs that they are here! In fact for special occasions they invite us to follow their fairy door trail and collect offerings they think you might like! Come back to camp and perhaps craft your own fairies and make a fairy house to take home.
WILDCRAFT ADVENTURE

Welcome to the Wilderwood! Wildcraft Adventure Party is adaption of our popular Minecraft inspired Wildcraft Game day developed by the Woodland Classroom
- Work together in teams, Hunters, Gatherers, Explorers or Miners to find resources to build a group camp before ‘nightfall’, protect it from marauding monsters and work together to gain XP for your team! Find your way out through the Portal…
- ‘Hunt’ Wild Boar, and enjoy a tasty hot dog cooked over the fire
